Real Estate Minor
A minor in real estate delivers an in-depth understanding of the real estate industry to complement your major area of study, whether you are pursuing a major in the W. P. Carey School of Business or through another college within ASU. Consisting of a foundation that includes real estate fundamentals, law, appraisal and land development, a minor in real estate instills a competitive base of knowledge for careers in the real estate industry.
Program Requirements
To qualify for the minor in real estate, you must complete a minimum of 18 credit hours including 12 hours of required courses and six hours of electives. All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” (2.00) or higher.
Required or elective upper division business courses for completion of the real estate minor are available once you have complete course prerequisites and have earned 56 credit hours with a minimum 2.50 ASU GPA.
If you are business major wishing to pursue a minor in real estate, consult a W. P. Carey academic advisor to ensure that an appropriate set of courses is taken. If you are not a business major, check with an academic advisor in the college or department of your major to make sure the minor can be recognized by your major program of study.
Certain major and minor combinations may be deemed inappropriate either by the college or department of the major or minor. Inappropriate combinations include (but are not limited to) ones in which an excessive number of courses in the minor are simultaneously being used to fulfill requirements of the student's major. Please contact the department for more information.
