Since 2021, a partnership between the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University (ASU) and Grambling State University (GSU) has enabled eligible GSU students to take real estate classes taught by ASU faculty. This program was co-created by GSU and ASU alumnus Murphy Cheatham — a graduate from the first cohort of the Master of Real Estate Development program — to provide a viable real estate career pathway for more people from more communities.

ASU/Grambling State University Partnership

I am an alum of Grambling State University and Arizona State University and I helped facilitate a partnership between them to create an opportunity for GSU students to earn a minor in real estate and matriculate to the Master of Real Estate Development program.
Murphy Cheatham (MRED ’07) Director, CBRE

This partnership supports GSU students being able to expand their training to include the acquisition of skills associated with real estate.
Connie Walton Provost, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Grambling State University

Real estate is more than an investment, it's the physical place we see as community. It builds wealth, creates freedom, houses our economy, and offers opportunity — it's the foundation for the success of people and a community.
Mark Stapp Director, Real Estate Experiential Learning Lab, Executive Director and Fred Taylor Endowed Professor of Real Estate, Master of Real Estate Development, ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business
